New Message Indicators on Chats or Tabs

The application fails to show any visual indicators (e.g., badges, dots, or highlighting) for new unread messages. This issue affects both individual chats in the list and the top navigation tabs ("Direct," "Groups," "Places"), making it difficult to identify new incoming messages.
